About Rico
I come from San Joaquin County and have always had a deep connection with music when I was first introduced to my instrument in 5th grade. I heavily focus on jazz-oriented concepts but also have experience with concert and marching band. Music is simply a wonderful thing to experience in high school and I am blessed to be able to experience being in multiple types of bands in all 4 years of high school. Again, currently I’m going to school and I’m a sophomore in college. I’ve had roughly 3 years of tutoring when I was in this voluntary music program called SAMY in Stockton. It’s been going strong for over 20+ years but due to COVID-19, it has been canceled. It’s a very fun summer music program and it’s for all ages for everyone to indulge in awesome pep tunes and original compositions.

My teaching approach is broad but bullet-centered in terms of what you want to achieve and learn. I can lean towards a more philosophical sense or more aspiring in terms of what music means to me and you. I enjoy teaching for either just the fun of playing music or more focused and disciplined principles. My teaching style is flexible and I would love to see how other students feel about it.
