About Elijah

Hi! My name is Elijah and I know how it feels to struggle in math! It feels as if you’re singled out because your classmates seem to be understanding the concepts covered in class effortlessly while you sit silently hoping that it will all makes sense to you somehow- then BAM here comes the test! you do badly and you start to question whether your capable of overcoming your struggles in math. I felt the exact same from elementary to grade nine, so you aren’t alone! Fast forward to now I’m a college student and I’ve found my liking for math again thanks to a great teacher I had in high school! I’m here to tell you that math doesn’t have to be painful, in fact it can be fun when you actually know and understand what you’re doing- all thanks to a teacher who understands your learning pace.

About the lesson

Warm-Up: Begin with a preview of the lesson to refresh prior knowledge, helping the student feel prepared and engaged.
Core Lesson: Clearly explain the topic, breaking it into its essential components. Emphasize understanding the correct equations for solving problems, the logic behind the equations, and how they apply to different scenarios. Ensure the student grasps both the “how” and the “why” of the topic.
Practice: Allow students to independently apply their learning by solving practice problems refining their skills, building confidence and developing a problem-solving mindset as a mathematician.
Recap: Summarize the key components of the lesson and provide a preview of what’s coming next.

Teaching Philosophy: I understand that every student learns at their own pace, and no two students approach new concepts in the same way. That’s why I tailor my teaching style to match each student’s unique needs, making math less intimidating and easier to grasp. My goal is to simplify learning while fostering confidence and enthusiasm for the subject.
Who These Lessons Are For: These lessons are designed for elementary and high school students (grade 1 to grade 9) who want to strengthen their math skills, improve their performance in school, and feel more confident in their abilities
