About Jonah
I am a music producer and songwriter working in Los Angeles finishing up my last year of college studying Commercial Composition and Production. I write, record, and perform my original music as an independent artist and co-creator with other artists. While I have a great deal of academic training in Saxophone, Guitar, Songwriting, Recording, and Vocal Performance, I have learned just as much writing albums in my bedroom and going to late-night sessions in LA. And, while that sounds glamorous, I can assure you it isn't always a silver screen dream. Between my strong technical understanding from college, and my own personal experiences of success and failure in the professional field, I truly believe that I can help you achieve all your personal and even professional music goals!

I don’t teach music. I teach YOU how to be a musician and artist! Instead of boring you to sleep by demanding exactly ‘what’ to do (insert that one half-dead teacher from school we all hated), we discover together ‘why’ these musical tools are valuable and ‘how’ you personally want to apply them! For much of my life, I struggled with ADHD and rigid teaching methods. This frustration led me to build a teaching philosophy around asking questions, instead of giving answers, in hopes to ignite an engaging collaborative learning relationship. Regardless of age or proficiency, I would love to guide you down the path of your musical journey, whatever that may be, to discover the musician you dream of becoming and will soon be!!!

Perfect! I've worked with a few tutors and Jonah stands way above the rest. He is reliable, has a wide range of knowledge - all of the skillsets that I need help with as an aspiring electronic music producer... He is actually a musician, he has a degree in music, music production, music theory etc... No matter what I need help with, Jonah is able to easily explain, teach and help me along my musical journey.
What I love about Jonah is his willingness to flow and adapt to how I learn and truly allows the lesson to be a constructive and creative process. Most instructors impose their own way of teaching and want to stick to their static curriculums. With Jonah, I truly feel like learning is a collaborative effort. Enthusiastic and personable. Great at zooming in on a technical detail, then zooming out and showing how it applies big picture.
I have been taking lessons with Jonah for a few months and the amount of knowledge Jonah has been able to teach me in such a short time is amazing. I came to him a complete novice in any sort of instrument or music theory but I am quickly getting an understanding of both music production and guitar thanks to his great teaching.
