About Eric
Hi! I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO, where I developed a fascination for portraying the world around me through music. After studying music composition at CSU, I went on to earn a master's degree in music composition by studying under two time Emmy award winning composer, Hummie Mann, at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program at the Seattle Film Institute. Since graduating, I have worked on a number of short films and video games as well as received commissions for concert works from ensembles like the Northern Colorado Concert Band. I also work as an additional music engraver for RPM Seattle Music Preparation and Summerwind Productions (located in Colorado), helping to create scores and parts for video games and musical theater productions.

I believe in creating an enjoyable, welcoming atmosphere for my students that encourages curiosity and educational growth. Though we will be digging into the inner workings of what makes music tick, I want the music we look at and analyze to be relatable to my student's interests. This often leads me to bring in specific film/video game scores or pop songs that address what we're covering in lessons.
