About Prem

I am an experienced Computer Science educator specialising in IB Extended Essays (EE), Internal Assessments (IA), GCSE/A Level NEA, undergraduate projects and postgraduate dissertations.

With extensive experience across IB, Cambridge, AQA, OCR and Edexcel, I provide structured, assessment-focused guidance while maintaining academic integrity and student ownership.

For EE, IA and NEA, I support students with research questions, project planning, algorithms, programming, testing, evaluation, technical documentation and criterion-focused improvement.

I also work with undergraduate and postgraduate Computer Science students on programming assignments, final-year projects, research projects and dissertations. My technical expertise includes Python, Java, C++, SQL, OOP, algorithms, data structures, databases and software development.

My teaching follows a clear WHAT–WHY–HOW approach: understand the concept, understand why it works, and learn how to apply it independently.

My goal is to help students become confident programmers, stronger problem-solvers and independent learners who can clearly explain and defend their technical decisions.

Every lesson is personalised around your exact goal—whether you are developing an IB Extended Essay (EE), Internal Assessment (IA), GCSE/A Level NEA, university programming assignment, final-year project or postgraduate dissertation.

For EE, IA and NEA students, we work step-by-step through research questions, project planning, algorithms, solution design, programming, testing, evaluation, technical documentation and assessment-focused improvement. If you already have a draft or project, we identify what is working, what is missing and exactly what you should focus on next.

For examination preparation, lessons combine clear concept explanations with exam-style questions, programming practice, command terms and targeted feedback across IB, Cambridge, AQA, OCR and Edexcel.

My WHAT–WHY–HOW approach ensures that you do not simply memorise solutions: you understand what you are doing, why it works and how to apply it independently.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are practical, interactive and focused on measurable progress. You will leave each session with clearer understanding, specific feedback and a structured plan for what to do next.

Details

My standard online tuition rate is £45 per hour. Each session is individually prepared according to the student’s curriculum, university module, assessment requirements, current progress and learning goals.

The hourly rate includes more than the live lesson itself. Where appropriate, sessions include personalised lesson preparation, relevant learning resources, programming examples, exam-style questions, project guidance and structured feedback on areas requiring improvement.

For IB students, I provide specialist support with Extended Essays (EE) and Internal Assessments (IA), including research-question development, project planning, assessment criteria, programming, analysis, testing, evaluation and technical documentation.

For GCSE and A Level students, I provide support with Computer Science theory, programming, examination preparation and NEA/coursework across major examination boards including AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students are also welcome. Sessions can cover Python, Java, C++, SQL, OOP, algorithms, data structures, databases, software development, debugging, programming assignments, final-year projects, research projects and dissertations.

A free 30-minute introductory session is available for new students. This can be used to discuss your course, goals and current difficulties, or to review the stage of your EE, IA, NEA, university project or dissertation before beginning regular tuition.

For project-based students, I normally recommend sharing the project requirements, assessment criteria or current progress before the lesson where possible. This allows me to understand the context and prepare a more focused session.

Regular weekly lessons and short-term intensive support can both be arranged depending on your requirements and deadlines.

All academic project support is provided with academic integrity in mind. My role is to teach, guide, provide feedback and help you develop your own solution rather than complete assessed work on your behalf.
