About Ethan
I understand well that each student has different goals, interests, strengths and weaknesses. Not everyone shares the same excitement for mathematics as I do, and they don't need to in order to be successful.
My hope in teaching would be to pass on some enthusiasm for the subjects I teach in order to make learning more enjoyable and less of a chore.
I graduated university with a degree in computer science. I was a top performer in my graduating class. I have years of experience as a teaching assistant for difficult university classes and as an informal tutor to friends and family.
I love teaching for the connections made between student and teach as well as the shared experience of learning.

I believe the best way to learn any academic subject is to focus on building a strong foundation.
My teaching style reflects this belief. If a student can successfully teach a mathematical concept to a peer, they truly understand it. I work with students to reach this ideal. I use a conversational approach while teaching to maximize student participation and engagement.
We work together on assigned homework and practice questions for upcoming tests and exams, I don't give out answers, but I can help break down the method for finding the answer into easy understandable steps.
I am able to teach math and computer science topics at any level from middle school to college/university studies.
