About Kaio
After I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Computer Science I began travelling and working on developing video games for PC, a long held dream of mine. I got into teaching while in college when I taught multiple programming classes to teenagers aged 13-18 and served as a teacher assistant and grader in a few upper division CS classes in college.

My teaching methodology is project based, as I strongly believe this is the only way to really learn difficult concepts. Project based learning may seem daunting at first to some, but the feeling of ownership and level of confidence observed after a project is finished is second to none, and I believe that goes a long way in improving your skills in the long term.
In previous classes some of the projects I have mentored include text based RPGs, a terminal shell, circuit board gizmos, calculators, and platformer games. I prefer to work with the student to determine what project would be best for them rather than choose from a list.
