About Diya
I’m a passionate and approachable tutor currently studying Computer Science at the University of Warwick. I have a strong academic background, having achieved all 9s at GCSE and A*s at A level, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with students and helping them build confidence in challenging subjects.
Alongside my studies, I have participated in coding and AI hackathons, won Cambridge essay competitions, and founded and run my own coding camps, giving me practical experience in both technology and teaching. I have also worked as a Maths and Computing mentor and as a gymnastics coach, teaching students of different ages and abilities.
I recently completed a summer internship at Wise, a leading fintech company, which gave me valuable insight into how computer science and technology are applied in the real world. I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts, improve their skills and achieve results they can be proud of.

I aim to make lessons clear, engaging and tailored to each student. I first identify the topics they are confident with and the areas they find challenging, then adapt lessons accordingly. I focus on understanding why something works rather than simply memorising methods, using worked examples, targeted questions and exam-style practice.
For exam preparation, I place particular emphasis on common mistakes, problem-solving techniques, time management and learning how to approach unfamiliar questions. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning, as this helps build genuine understanding and confidence.
Lessons are typically 1 hour, although longer sessions can be arranged when appropriate, particularly for exam preparation or intensive revision.
I achieved all 9s at GCSE and A*s at A level, and my strong academic background allows me to explain challenging concepts in a straightforward and accessible way.
I have previously worked as a gymnastics coach, teaching children aged 3–13, and have also founded and independently run coding camps, where I taught students programming and computational thinking. In addition, I have experience as both a Computing mentor and Maths mentor, supporting students with their academic work and helping them develop confidence in challenging topics.
These experiences have taught me how to adapt my explanations to different learning styles and ages, while keeping lessons encouraging, structured and enjoyable.

I am also happy to take on any students who wish to learn or hone their programming ability, as I am proficient in most coding languages.
I am happy to work with students of different abilities, whether they want to build their foundations, improve their grades, tackle challenging topics or prepare specifically for exams.
