About James
I am a theatre maker (actor, director, writer, producer) who's been working professionally in the North East and nationally for the past 10 years. I have a passion for bringing talent out of people, whatever you perceive your ability to be. I believe that everybody can act and does it in their everyday life. If you have a passion for performing that you want to learn more about, or have a desire to learn how to use it, I want to help you! I will collaborate with you to maximise your skills. Sessions are a safe place where you can express yourself and grow as a performer.

My approach is to teach you how to practically bring your skills to the fore and to build confidence in yourself to create characters and performances that are believable, relatable, entertaining, and powerful. Rather than focusing on learning theory the sessions will focus on putting into practice techniques and theories of well-established practitioners, such as Stanislavski, Augusto Boal, Bertolt Brecht and many more. The sessions will also give you ways to utilise these theories based on my experience throughout my career. You will gain from the sessions: confidence, skills, and the ability to put them into practice and become a more rounded performer. Sessions will be 1 hour in length. I've been teaching 11-18 year olds, and adults for 6 years. My lessons are for all ages - anyone is welcome.
