About Freya
I am a guitar educator with 13 years of teaching experience and a PhD in Guitar Performance Practice. Throughout my career, I have guided students through different stages of musical development, helping them strengthen technique and gain confidence in performance.
My teaching philosophy combines structured learning with creative freedom. I believe students progress best when they understand musical concepts while having opportunities to apply them in practical ways. Lessons are tailored to suit individual strengths, goals, and interests.
Outside teaching, I enjoy arranging music, performing in collaborative projects, and studying evolving guitar techniques. These experiences continually inspire my teaching and enrich the learning experience. I look forward to helping students reach new levels of confidence and musicianship.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students become confident and adaptable musicians through a balanced approach to technique and creativity. We focus on rhythm guitar, lead playing, chord vocabulary, fingerstyle techniques, fretboard awareness, improvisation, musical phrasing, and performance skills. Lessons are structured to provide clear direction while allowing students to explore their musical interests.
I incorporate technique-building exercises, repertoire study, ear training activities, scale development, creative improvisation tasks, and performance preparation into lessons. Students receive personalized instruction that helps them strengthen weaknesses while building confidence in their playing. Learning materials are selected according to individual goals, experience levels, and preferred musical styles.
Every lesson encourages curiosity, discipline, and artistic growth. I create a motivating environment where learners feel comfortable exploring new ideas and challenging themselves. My goal is to help students build strong guitar skills while developing a lifelong appreciation for music and creative expression.
