About Joanne
I’m a CELTA Certified, native speaker, published series editor, and children’s book author who love championing young ESL writers ages 6-15. I am committed to an holistic, Dome-styled teaching which is a communicative approach to language that doesn’t rely on published textbooks. I have both in-person and online teaching experience and received an MCGI Award in Education Leadership from City & Guilds.

Do you feel stuck on your English language journey? You get all the answers and quizzes correct in class but in the real world can never think of what to say! You may have developed “ book knowledge “. In our classes we will diagnose and customize to your specific needs and plan for breakthroughs that will help you transfer your classroom learning into real life fluency, freedom and self-expression. We will use a communicative, conversational approach rather than text books. I will provide specific on the spot error correction as well as provide suggestions for self-study (if you’re up for some home work!) For children’s writing classes my approach is less prescriptive and more creative. I use quality picture books and short films and encourage self motivated learning. I will provide reliable tools and resources and aim to be responsive to your feedback and requests.
