I tutor middle school and 9th-grade students in psychology and biology. I focus on making the material interesting by connecting it to real-world examples and what students already care about. I start by figuring out what's confusing—whether it's vocabulary or the actual concept—then explain it clearly, usually with examples or visuals. We talk through it together, and I let students ask questions without judgment.
I'm patient and don't make it awkward when students don't understand something yet. I try to explain why something matters instead of just having them memorize it. If an explanation isn't working, I'll try a completely different approach rather than repeating myself.
