About Jenna

As an English tutor I am committed to creating a professional, supportive, and productive learning environment for every student. I am a current law student and hold a degree in English, which has strengthened my own skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, and clear communication. My academic background allows me to help students not only understand the importance of English and Literature but how we can apply these skills to professional, academic, and personal settings.

I approach every lesson with preparation, patience, and clear goals. My lessons are structured but flexible to meet the needs of every student and specific learning styles.

My goal is to not only help you improve your English skills but also to help students develop confidence in their written and verbal communication skills.

About the lesson

I provide a holistic teaching style that focuses on making English practical, engaging, and easy to understand. I believe that students learn best when lessons are interactive and relatable to their lives.

Lessons may change based upon the specific skills being taught. A typical lesson will begin with a five to ten minute warm-up that may include journaling and reviewing previous materials or homework assignments. Then the lesson will move to a lecture with practical problems embedded to encourage interaction and participation. Class concludes with a general review and instruction for more practice and assignments for either the next session or to improve on the specific skill.

My lessons are suitable for high school students studying English and English Literature, including AP English Literature and Composition.
