About Alya M

I am currently a PhD student in Engineering working on sustainable polymer in Athlone Institute of Technology in Ireland. I did my bachelors in Applied Physics and I majored in Nanotechnology in Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia. I had done my final year project in developing biosensor for food applications.

I am also active in several volunteering projects with several student organizations and my work mainly falls under management and/or corporate relations departments.

During my bachelors, I did several tutoring jobs mainly focusing on basic mathematics, science, physics, Bahasa Malaysia, and basic English. I really enjoyed the work and I look forward to be working on that field again!

About the lesson

Prefer to approach topics systematically and practically for better understanding. I am very patient and like to take time on specific topics and chapters that needs focus on to ensure that the students understand it thoroughly from the basics. I do like to let the students try solving the problems themselves as well after explaining to make sure they can get used to solving it. Sometimes students can get better understanding through practice before going through the problems together.

Had done tutoring before for both primary ( age 7-12) and secondary students (age 13-15) for several months in my home country to prepare them for their final exams.

Usually typical length of lessons are around 1-2 hours depending on requests and needs on a topic/chapters.
