About Zakiya
I am a graduate of Howard University, the number 1 HBCU in the nation. I currently attend Georgia State University as a PhD student in School Psychology. In the near future, I will begin a career in academic advocacy and education research. I am also a historian with a specialization Black historical contribution.
In my free time, I love to read, bake, dance and garden.

My name is Zakiya Austin and I am currently a PhD student pursuing a career in School Psychology. I have over four years of experience in intensive literacy and writing intervention programs.
I tutor and coach K-8 students in phonics, reading and writing using comprehensive techniques. I challenge learners by taking them beyond classroom expectations to cultivate a love for reading and learning.
