Current Student Teacher earning a BSE Early Childhood Special Education Degree. I have been involved in the IDD community for over 10 years, and special education is my passion!

Devyn was my child's behavior therapist (ABA RBT) for almost a year and we miss her so much! Devyn has a warm personality and she was able have great rapport with my child. As the club advisor, I quickly realized that Devyn was a very special person with a heart of gold and a desire to make the world a better place.

Over time, she became more interested in working with students with various disabilities, and she began spending her free time in my classroom, a "Special Day Class" in the "Moderate to Severe" category, hanging out with my students, assisting in lesson implementation, and asking impressively intelligent questions. Eventually, the administration team allowed her to earn credits working under myself and my team as a Special Education Mentee during her senior year.

Imagine a teenaged girl having the freedom to spend her time in any way that she wanted, and CHOOSING to use her life to uplift others, to learn and practice, to experience discomfort, and to build toward her dream of working in Special Education!
