About Elliot
I come from a state-school, working-class background in Hull and was the first in my family to attend university. After receiving an offer from Oxford, I quickly learnt the importance of developing effective and efficient study methods in order to meet the demanding offer conditions. As a tutor, I focus on teaching these same strategies to my students, helping them build strong revision habits, improve exam technique, and gain confidence in their abilities. My aim is to support students in achieving their academic goals, whether that is securing a university place or simply reaching their full potential. Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time with my cat, fencing, photography, and cooking.

I take a Socratic approach to teaching, preferring to involve students in working towards an answer or argument, as opposed to simply teaching it. I prefer to work slowly through different aspects of the modules, centring the learning and teaching around the specification and past papers to ensure students are fully prepared for examinations. I am happy to teach in 1-2 hours block and am flexible with my scheduling.
