About Alice
I am a working professional in Data with 10 years of industry experience. I have an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in Data Science from The University of Colorado Boulder.
I am a born problem-solver and I'm driven by a lifetime love of math. I want my students to feel confidence when faced with a new math problem and even grow to enjoy the challenge.
I have solid experience as both a tutor and mentor, and I take teaching seriously as a skill and an art. I've found that different students have different ways of coming to true understanding of mathematical concepts and I'll work to engage with the unique way the student thinks.

Lessons geared towards middle school and high school level students that are working towards success in their classes or SATs/ACTs.
1-2 hour lessons at your choice of meeting place or online where we work through your homework or test workbook, supplementing areas of learning opportunity with similar problems that I provide.
The strategy is to learn while we actually solve math problems and stop to discuss math theory where it is helpful. Sometimes it's worth it to step back and explain the mathematical workings in a new way to supercharge understanding but for the most part - we're going to learn math by doing math!

Weekly 1-2 hour lessons recommended for students needing ongoing support in their math class.
If we're preparing for a major test, I recommend 2 or 3 lessons in the days leading up to the test. You might aim for 5 hours total.
For SAT or ACT prep, I highly recommend a 5 or 10 hour package. That way, we can create a programmatic approach tailored to your preferred study materials.
