About Austina
I am an A-level student studying Chemistry, Physics, Maths & Further Maths. Beyond my academics, I am an avid reader; I play the piano & flute and I am an active member of the air cadets. I read across a variety of genres from classics such as War and Peace to more contemporary works like Fahrenheit 451 because they allow me to explore unconventional and thought-provoking subjects whereas I play the piano and flute for their grounding effects - I find the relationship between maths and music especially interesting. My involvement in the ATC is a product of my passion in aerospace engineering which I hope to pursue a career in.

Each lesson will be planned in collaboration with the student. We will discuss both what they are covering in class and what topics they struggle with in order to create a schedule that we will reflect on at the end of every session to determine whether spending an additional session would be beneficial. In this way, my lesson plans are flexible and structured around the student's educational development while helping them to take ownership of their learning.
A generic lesson structure would start with a catch-up of their progress in school followed by a recall task to assess whether the concepts from the previous session have been understood and serves to reinforce them. The majority of the lesson would be dedicated to a mixture of theory and practical application (working through a variety of questions) to identify gaps in their knowledge we can build on.
