About Mak
Hi! I’m a passionate artist with a certificate in Digital Arts and years of hands-on experience teaching both traditional and digital art. From leading community paint nights to volunteering at the library teaching kids how to draw and paint, I’ve spent the last few years helping others explore their creativity in fun, supportive ways. Whether I’m working with young children just starting out or teens building their portfolios, I love seeing students grow more confident in their abilities. I specialize in both traditional techniques (like sketching, watercolor, and acrylic) and digital illustration, using tools like Procreate and Adobe-based programs. As an art tutor with a certificate in Digital Arts and several years of experience teaching both children and teens, my approach is rooted in encouragement, creativity, and hands-on learning. I believe that everyone has the ability to express themselves artistically—it’s just about finding the right tools and guidance.
Teaching Methodology & Techniques
My lessons are highly personalized. I start by assessing each student’s current skill level and artistic interests, then tailor our sessions to help them grow in both technique and confidence. I use a blend of traditional and digital methods, incorporating exercises in drawing, painting, and digital illustration using software like Procreate or Adobe Fresco (depending on access and level). I focus on developing core skills such as composition, color theory, line work, and storytelling through art.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session usually begins with a 5–10 minute warm-up sketch or discussion about a creative prompt. We then dive into the main activity, which might be practicing a technique (e.g., shading, perspective, color blending), working on a project (such as a character design or landscape), or exploring a new medium. I end each lesson with constructive feedback and suggestions for independent practice. For digital lessons, I also guide students through layers, brush tools, and digital composition basics.
