About James
Educated at the prestigious JRNCM by sought-after teachers Sally-Ann Macleod and Jonathan Middleton, runner-up at the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Junior Intercollegiate competition, and experienced pianist at concerts for charities and care homes, I offer low-rate and high-quality lessons. I began classical piano training at the age of 4 and expanded into the jazz scene in my teenage years, accumulating experience in concerts and competitions as a solo and ensemble pianist. I have experience with teenage students learning both classical and jazz piano.

Learning music should be fun, satisfying and meaningful at every level and this is my primary aim. I have an all-round skill-set, offering enjoyable and productive lessons which aim to give you the ability to play your favourite pieces, progress with ABRSM grades or develop your own musical expression depending on your interests and needs. I aim to inspire confidence, interest and musical appreciation during lessons as well as offering guidance on technique, expression and how to continue at the piano between lessons. I believe in a step-wise approach which reduces daunting new challenges to simple tasks which are mastered much more quickly.
