About Ertan
- I am currently a CFA working at Morgan Stanley with 8 years of experience, and already has a good professinal experience with communicating with my clients
-As a dual citizen who is fluent in both Turkish&English, i do understand where the challenges lie for people who are learning the language.
- I worked as a researcher/translator at Library of Congress, and provided reports to my superiors to be used in multiple projects.This required a good level of knowledge of both Turkish &English, but also interpretation of the meaning of the context as word to word translation does not always work well from Turkish to English, vice versa.
- I do enjoy helping people with Turkish since I truly think it is a fun language to learn, and despite it being a tough language to learn, once certain points are understood, the barriers to learn diminish significantly

- I like to focus on teaching Turkish the way that is actually used in Turkey, rather than focusing on every grammer detail of the language.
- I always found that the people I tutored were learning the language faster by listening/speaking. For ex, for listening we would find a video from a topic they enjoy and go over the video togeter. An example would be listening a pop song in Turkish with someone who enjoy pop music and try to see what he hears/interprets, and go from there as a practical approach.A similar approach I used was for ex: when doing a speaking exercise, we would pick a topic of interest and chat on that issue with small sentences.
- I am a very patient person when it comes to teaching, and I am open to teach Turkish to anyone who is interested. However, I would like to think that I am someone who can add real value to people who already has some basic knowledge of the language, and they want to get more practical knowledge/use cases.
