About Oishik
Hi, I’m Oishik! If you are looking for a patient, highly qualified, and enthusiastic science tutor, you are in the exact right place.
I hold dual Master’s degrees in Biotechnology and Applied Environmental Microbiology, along with a Bachelor of Science in Botany. Before moving to Ontario, I spent over three years managing strict clinical laboratories and training scientific staff. I know firsthand how to take highly complex, intimidating information and translate it into simple, easy-to-understand steps.
I understand that science can feel overwhelming for many students, but it doesn't have to be. My ultimate goal as a tutor is to provide a safe, encouraging, and judgment-free environment where students feel totally comfortable asking questions. I pride myself on my professionalism, organization, and ability to adapt my teaching style to fit exactly how each individual student learns best.
Whether your student is struggling to keep up, preparing for a major exam, or just wants to build real confidence in Biology, I am fully committed to helping them succeed.

My Approach & Methodology
Biology is the study of the wonders happening around and inside of us every single second. My teaching philosophy is built on patience and excitement. I take the fear out of complex science by breaking concepts down into relatable pieces. Because I have spent years working as a clinical laboratory manager, I do not just teach you textbook theory—I show you exactly how these concepts are used in the real world to make them interesting and easy to remember.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A typical 60-minute session with me is structured for maximum retention and confidence building:
The Warm-Up (10 Minutes): Reviewing last week’s material and clearing up any confusing concepts from your recent classes.
Core Concepts (35 Minutes): Tackling the day's topic. We map out the biological mechanisms together and connect them to real-world examples.
Curriculum Practice (15 Minutes): Applying what we just learned to your specific homework, upcoming exams, or assignments.
What Sets Me Apart
I hold a Master of Biotechnology, a Master of Applied Environmental Microbiology, and a BSc in Botany. Beyond my university degrees, I have years of experience managing clinical laboratories and directing microbiological testing. When I teach you about cells or genetics, I am teaching you from years of hands-on, professional bench experience.
