About Amanda
I have four years of tutoring experience and have taught a variety of subjects ranging from psychology to mathematics to SAT prep. I am very specialized in psychology seeing as it is what I study both inside the classroom and in the lab at my college, Duke University. Next semester, I will actually be teaching my own psychology-related course! I love to teach and I love working with my students. Watching students learn and grow is a very exciting thing to see unfold! I look forward to meeting any potential students who are as equally eager to learn as I am to teach them!

In my lessons, I tend I focus on strategies and breaking things down into very digestible pieces of information. I think that learning should flow very naturally and I try to teach and structure my lessons accordingly. I believe in frequent check-ins with students to gauge understanding. I also believe in doing a lot of practice questions to solidify concepts and also build confidence in taking exams/reduce anxiety.
