About Peter
I am a Durham University student studying Economics and History. A French teacher I had during my GCSEs completely changed my confidence in the subject. I was initially nervous to even speak French, but she was patient while also demanding consistency from me. That experience shaped how I want to tutor: approachable and supportive, but with a strong emphasis on consistent work outside lessons.

My approach is based on what helped me succeed in my own exams: consistency, lots of exam practice and asking questions whenever something was unclear. Lessons focus on breaking difficult topics down simply, working through exam-style questions and improving answer structure. In Economics, I can help with application, diagrams and evaluation, while in History I focus on essay structure, use of evidence and analytical argument.
Lessons are typically one hour and are aimed at KS3 and GCSE Economics and History students. I achieved A*s in both subjects at A-level, including 95% in Economics Paper 1 and full marks in my History coursework. I also have experience mentoring pupils through my school’s learning support programme and as Head Boy.
A-level results: A* Economics, A* History, A* Chemistry, A Maths
GCSEs: 9 grade 9s, 1 grade 8
