About Elena
I am a passionate Software Educator with 5 years of experience in both the tech industry & private tutoring. I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science & have a deep love for the logic & creativity that programming requires. My background includes developing web applications & managing large-scale databases, which allows me to bring real-world insights into every lesson. I specialize in teaching K-12 students & college freshmen, tailoring my style to fit the unique needs of early-career coders.
My contributions to the field have been recognized with the Tech Catalyst Award & the Innovation in Coding Medal. These awards celebrate my commitment to making Computer Science accessible to a diverse range of learners & my success in fostering a new generation of programmers. In my spare time, I enjoy participating in hackathons, tinkering with robotics, & digital photography. I am also a big fan of science fiction literature, which originally sparked my interest in Artificial Intelligence & future technologies. In today’s digital world, coding is a vital literacy, & my live lessons are designed to turn you from a consumer of technology into a creator. We will explore a variety of languages, including Python for its versatility, Java for its structural rigor, & C++ for high-performance computing. For students interested in the web, we will master HTML/CSS & JavaScript to build responsive, beautiful websites from scratch. My lessons are hands-on, meaning you will be writing code from day one under my direct, one-on-one supervision.
We will also delve into the modern frontiers of technology, such as Artificial Intelligence & Data Management using SQL. I believe in project-based learning, so we will work on building games, automating tasks, or designing databases that solve real problems. For K-12 students, I keep things engaging by using visual metaphors to explain complex logic like loops, conditionals, & object-oriented programming. For college freshmen, I provide the technical depth needed to excel in rigorous Computer Science 101 courses & beyond.
Our sessions involve live debugging, where we analyze errors together & learn the best practices of clean, efficient coding. We will discuss the importance of algorithms & data structures, ensuring you have a deep understanding of how software actually works under the hood. Whether you want to develop the next big mobile app or understand how AI models are trained, I provide the roadmap & the support to get you there. I make sure to explain the "why" behind the syntax, fostering a mindset of logical inquiry.
Furthermore, we will cover the essentials of version control & collaborative coding tools. I stay updated with the latest industry trends to ensure that what you learn is applicable in the real world. Coding can be frustrating at times, but I am here to provide the encouragement & clarity needed to break through those barriers. By the end of our course, you will have a portfolio of projects that demonstrate your proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, & more, setting you apart in your academic & professional future.
