About Kisa
I'm a third-year Electrical Engineering student at Toronto Metropolitan University, and I've been teaching and mentoring students for the past 5 years. Alongside my studies, I'm the Electrical Lead on my university's satellite design team, which placed 1st in Canada and top 2% internationally at the American Aerospace Association. I bring genuine hands-on experience in math, physics, coding, and problem-solving, not just theory. I also create printed circuit boards and teach workshops for many student associations at my university. Additionally, I work as a coding instructor, where I teach students how to think through problems logically and communicate their reasoning clearly. Outside of academics, I've competed in swimming and karate for years, which taught me discipline and patience qualities I bring directly into how I teach. I care about making sure students actually understand the material, feel confident asking questions, and build the skills they need to succeed on exams and in the class.

My approach as a tutor centers on building real understanding, not cramming, with a focus on exam and test success. I break concepts down step-by-step and connect them to practical examples, so students learn to solve problems on their own rather than just memorizing formulas for a test. A typical lesson moves into focused practice on the concepts a student finds hardest, and ends with problem-solving on the specific skills and thinking questions students will actually be tested on, to build both understanding and confidence. I work with students up to age 19, covering math (includes functions and calculus), physics (includes solid state physics) , chemistry (includes organic and electrochemistry), and coding. I'm well suited for students preparing for exams and tests who want high results and conceptual knowledge, specifically from grades 1 to 12.
