About Jennifer L
I was a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher for over 10 years and have now been working as a school librarian for students in grades K-8 for the past 14 years. I have an extensive knowledge of children's and young adult literature, and experience teaching all areas of ELA, from phonics to writing. I have worked in schools in both Chicago, IL, and New York City. I have a Master's Degree in Teaching, and I am one class away from completing a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. I have an Illinois Teaching license, and have recently applied for my New Jersey teaching license.

As an elementary school classroom teacher and librarian for over 25 years, I offer support to students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade with all things ELA: reading decoding and fluency, phonics, writing conventions, reading comprehension, literature, and test prep. I offer customized lessons tailored to every student's individual needs, and can collaborate with your child's teachers to ensure their learning goals are achieved.
My years of expertise in the classroom and knowledge of children's literature allow me the flexibility to support your child in an extensive variety of methods. I have an approach that is personable and I am willing to get to know students and how they best learn to design sessions for them that get desired results.
