About Katie
I have 4 years of experience working with all ages ranging from 5 years old to adults. For the past two years, I have worked one on one with children with special needs at an elementary school where I teach them math and English. Previously I tutored second grade students in reading and writing for two years through America Reads. All of my students were below grade level at the start of the program but finished the year on grade level after twice a week intensive tutoring.

My lessons are mainly catered towards elementary and middle school students in either general or special education. The lessons are very hands on. I usually begin by modeling a skill, then provide the student support as they practice the skill for the first time, and finally end by having the student try the skill independently.
