About Luke

Hello! I’m Luke, a highly dedicated Physics and Mathematics specialist. I am currently studying for an Integrated Master’s degree in Physics with Astrophysics at Lancaster University. My academic journey has always been driven by a passion for solving the most complex problems at the highest competitive levels, and I teach because I want to bring that exact rigour, confidence, and enthusiasm to my students to help them achieve their absolute best.

I am a deeply experienced online educator, having successfully delivered over 333+ lessons with a flawless track record of 20 consecutive 5-star reviews on other major UK tutoring platforms.

My Academic & Research Highlights:

Cambridge University Internship & Published Research: I completed a prestigious summer internship at Cambridge, culminating in my role as a co-author on a published scientific paper. This experience honed my ability to analyse complex data and translate high-level scientific concepts into accessible knowledge.

University of Cambridge Mathematics Olympiad: I was personally invited to sit the prestigious Olympiad paper, an experience that developed my ability to tackle high-pressure, advanced-level problems.

Quantum Mechanics & Computational Astrophysics: I have authored a research paper exploring the quantum world and coded a complex planetary simulation of Saturn’s gravitational ring systems.

I teach because I genuinely enjoy the "lightbulb" moments when a student finally understands a difficult concept. I know exactly where students get stuck because I am actively navigating and mastering high-level STEM challenges myself. My goal is to provide the high-achieving, supportive environment your child needs to secure top grades in their GCSEs, dominate A-Level Further Maths and Physics, or successfully prepare for competitive university entrance exams.

I specialise in delivering high-yield, premium online tutoring specifically designed for GCSE, A-Level, and Further Maths/Physics students, as well as applicants preparing for competitive university entrance exams.

Lesson Structure & Length
My standard lessons are 60 minutes long, which I have found to be the absolute sweet spot for focused, high-impact learning without cognitive fatigue. We maximise our time together using my strict 10-20-30 Rule:

The First 10 Minutes: A "retrieval starter" to reactivate and solidify knowledge from the previous week.

The Next 20 Minutes: Deep-dive conceptual delivery of new material using our collaborative digital workspace.

The Final 30 Minutes: Active application—tackling real exam-style questions to build true exam fluency.

My Teaching Techniques & Methodology
Online tutoring shouldn't be a passive lecture. I utilise a collaborative interactive whiteboard space where we sketch out free-body diagrams, map circuit schematics, or colour-code complex algebraic proofs in real-time. I use Dual Coding (combining visual models with verbal explanations) and a Scaffolding framework where we transition from "I do" (demonstration) to "We do" (guided practice) to "You do" (independent mastery).

Tracking Progress
We eliminate guesswork. I implement low-stakes diagnostic testing in every session to catch and correct misconceptions instantly. Every three weeks, we tackle a "Progress Challenge"—a timed set of past-paper questions under exam conditions—ensuring students are entirely unfazed when the real exam day arrives.
