About Jorge
I am amechanical engineer, I graduated from FEUP - University of Porto. I am currently a student of Languages and Cultures (Portuguese - French) and a PhD student in Translation and Terminology, at the University of Aveiro. My interests include the study of indo-european languages and cultures and the relationships among them. I have developed a good knowledge of Russian, German and French, and I'm studying Latin at the university, to reinforce my abilities in teaching Portuguese to foreigners.

As a teaching method, I give preference to spoken language, without forgetting written language. I try to enhance the grammatical and etymological correspondences and similarities between some of the Portuguese vocabulary and the vocabulary of other European languages (Spanish, French, English, German, Russian). Knowledge of Latin language allows me to reinforce this relationship between Portuguese and the languages quoted: did you know, for example, that languages seemingly as distant as Russian and Latin have an almost identical grammatical structure?
