About Grayson
I’ve been studying advanced mathematics for over eight years and have consistently performed at a high level. In high school, I earned 5s on the AP Calculus AB and BC exams, equivalent to finishing each course with an A. In college, I continued my math studies, earning a B in Multivariable Calculus (Calculus III) and an A+ in Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. On the SAT, I scored 730 in Math, placing me in the 97th percentile nationally demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning. In physics, I passed AP Physics in high school and went on to take college-level physics, which included lecture, recitation, and lab components. I earned As in all areas, reinforcing both my conceptual understanding and practical application of physics principles. As for my tutoring experience, while I was studying Calculus II in high school, I regularly tutored Calculus I students during my lunch breaks. That experience helped me develop the ability to explain complex topics in a way that’s clear, patient, and student focused.

As a tutor, I pride myself on delivering lessons that are both thorough and efficient. I recognize how overwhelming it can be to juggle coursework under tight deadlines—whether those pressures come from outside expectations or our own internal drive. My goal is to reduce stress, not add to it, by making each session purposeful and respectful of your time.
My teaching method is rooted in clarity, logic, and retention. I approach mathematics and physics with a simple three-step structure:
1. Introduction of Tools: I begin with the foundational elements—equations, variables, and the contexts in which they apply.
2. Understanding the Logic: I provide concise, relevant explanations of why a formula or theorem works, helping students form a deeper connection to the concept.
3. Application: I offer targeted problems that reinforce the concept through hands-on practice.
Once a student understands the concept, we focus on long-term retention through spaced repetition—revisiting the topic at increasing intervals (after one hour, twelve hours, etc.) until the concept becomes second nature.
A typical lesson follows this flow, adjusted to suit the student’s pace and goals. Lessons are interactive and flexible, allowing room for questions, exploration, and review.
What sets me apart is my ability to empathize with students as a fellow learner. I teach with patience and adaptability, ensuring that students walk away with both confidence and competence. I aim to make complex topics digestible, and I prioritize lasting understanding over rote memorization.

• Physics (High school and early college level)
