About Charlotte
I’m currently taking a gap year from studying Civil Engineering at the University of Sheffield. During my time at university, I've been a student ambassador, working alongside fellow ambassadors to deliver successful open days, engineering workshops, speeches and outreach presentations; and a volunteer coach for Universify Education, coaching GCSE students from across the country in person and online. While my focus is on maths and physics, I can also offer academic guidance to do with applying to university, choosing A level options and any other related areas. In my experience, the most important component to success is enjoying learning. I am passionate about sharing my enthusiasm for maths and physics and communicating ideas in a way what is fun and engaging. With 1:1 learning and tailored support, I strive to achieve this. In my spare time, when I’m not helping out at open days or giving tours of the University, I like to climb, practise yoga and get stuck into creative projects. I also enjoy programming and am part of the university team aiming to design and build an autonomous drone.

My tutoring sessions are intended for anyone who is studying maths or physics at GCSE or A level and wants to enhance their learning, regardless of age. The sessions typically last an hour, with the flexibility to extend or shorten a session upon request. I find that the best approach is to have an introductory session first to set the goals for the future. Here, we discuss what you wish to gain from tutoring so I can adapt the sessions to suit your learning style; a top priority. I always allow a period of time at the end of each session for reflection and quizzes to help you make the most out of each session. The sessions can be in person if local to Sheffield, or online if not. In the past, I’ve tutored combined science to GCSE students, delivering well-structured, targeted sessions to cover a wide variety of topics, such as physics, chemistry and biology revision, exam technique, practice exam questions and much more. Currently, I coach GCSE students online, helping them achieve their potential through giving academic guidance and support. Most importantly, I try to make the lessons as fun and engaging as possible, so that you can go away with the confidence to succeed.

Perfect! Good communication
- Sophie and I spoke for the first time in this introductory session. It was nice to hear what Sophie’s goals were and how she was motivated to tackle obstacles in order to achieve her goals. Sophie is a strong communicator and will benefit in a 1:1 tutoring environment, where we can work through individual questions at a steady pace, together.Charlotte's response :
