About Jess
English has always been one of my favourite subjects because I enjoy exploring ideas through reading, writing, and analysing texts.
Outside of Academics, I love musical theatre and performing. I enjoy storytelling, creativity, and expressing ideas through performance, which is one of the reasons I am so drawn to English as a subject. I find it exciting how language can be used to communicate powerful ideas and emotions.
I care a lot about helping people, which is a big reason why I want to tutor. I enjoy supporting others and helping them gain confidence in their abilities. Being able to help students understand something they previously struggled with and see them improve is something I find really rewarding.

I enjoy helping younger students build confidence in their reading, writing, and overall understanding of English.
My lessons are typically aimed at primary school and lower secondary school students who want to improve their literacy skills, homework performance, or exam preparation. I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their abilities at their own pace.
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous work or any homework questions, followed by focused practice on key areas such as reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, or exam techniques depending on the student’s needs. I like to use clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice to help students fully understand each topic.
Lessons usually last around 45–60 minutes, which allows enough time to cover material in depth while keeping students focused and motivated.
