About Deshana
With a Master's in English and a degree in Linguistics, and an IELTS score of 8.0, I have the academic background & credentials to back up my skills. What drives me to teach is simple: I know how much of a difference language skills can make, and I want to help others build that same opportunity for themselves.
My approach is friendly and relaxed. I think of lessons more like a conversation than a lecture. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at your own pace. I'm not here to be a strict teacher, I'm here to help you figure things out together.
I'm an international student myself, so I know firsthand what it's like to navigate English in a foreign country, academic, professional, and everyday settings. English is the most widely spoken language in the world, and mastering it can open doors anywhere. I want to share what I've learned, not just the grammar and vocabulary, but the confidence to use English in real life.

I hold a Master's in English and a degree in Linguistics, with an IELTS score of 8.0. I'm based in the UK and offer online tutoring tailored to each student's needs.
I can help you with:
Grammar: Clear explanations followed by practical exercises
Speaking: Conversation practice in a low-pressure setting, with gentle feedback
Writing: Help with structure, clarity, and grammar — at your pace
IELTS: Strategies and practice based on my own experience scoring 8.0
Regular sessions are 60 minutes or 30 minutes on request.
I work with older teens (16 and above), university students, international students and adults; whether you're preparing for exams, need support with academic writing, or want to build confidence in English, I've got you covered!
