About Trevona
I am a Year 13 student at a local sixth form studying A levels in English Language, English Literature and Biology. I am hoping to go on to study as a Speech and Language Therapist next year. When I was taking my GCSES I was asked by teachers to tutor other students in order to prepare them for their exams. I took my own exams that same year and proceeded to get a grade 7 in English Literature (around the old A grade mark) and a 6 in English Language, along with two 7s (Maths and English), one 6 (Drama), 8-7 (Science Trilogy), one Level 2 Merit (Dance) and a Level 2 Distinction Star (Travel and Tourism). The progress I made in this year was down to the revision methods that I would like to share.

My teaching method is; as you would guess: methodical. In the new GCSEs a lot of the exams are based on knowledge recall, so memory exercises and games are key to learning what you need to succeed in these exams. For example, methods of remembering quotes from texts and poems is key, however, it is also important to remember that students need to also be able to remember what their quotes mean, and be able to think on their feet. So exam practice is also vital, so I will also provide 'walking-talking mocks' where I go through and explain the ideal way to sit an exam.
