About Lauren
I am currently an undergraduate student, enjoying learning more about English Literature and Creative Writing. You can never learn too much! Although this is my first time doing online tutoring, I have had lots of experience working with A-Level, GCSE and below - especially when it comes to improving reading/writing/literacy skills. I have often mentored students and it was a privileged to watch their
confidence grow as they understood the key concepts that they needed to.
Teachers trusted me to aid them in teaching lessons; I have had experience working with primary school- aged children, where I specialised in helping with 'guided reading' (reading aloud) and I have spent time with GCSE-aged children to help them develop the skills they need to understand and engage with their texts and the exam. It's all in the preparation!

I approach each lesson as my students need; if they feel that they need to cover something more in-depth than we first thought, I adapt my teaching to fit around this. It is about making sure my students gain an understanding of what is needed. I aim to give the tools needed to succeed with English Literature/Creative Writing, but I also like my students to feel challenged and take responsibility too for their work. This means that we put a plan together of what they want to study and what I think they need to work on.
