About Sandy
Yes, I’m a retired banking consultant. I have always occupied frontline positions as a public advisor, so I would say that I certainly have a lot of experience in working with people. I am confident, I’m kind, I am patient, and I have a sense of humor, which I think is vital when interacting with a student. I have a neutral accent, and I am very motivated to inspire my students who are interested in learning an expressive, beautiful language like English.

I have a variety of interests, I paint, draw, and sketch. My subject matter is varied. I love music and symphony. I’m passionate about nature. I love the ocean. I live in a coastal province called Durban, so I’m literally a street away from the beach. I believe that conversation is an art and rapport with students is vital. My strengths are definitely communication. I believe that lessons should be easy, and good communication once established is extremely beneficial to the student becoming an excellent speaker of English. Being older and retired and coming from the banking industry was certainly where I learned people skills. I am hands-on and patient, and working in a face-to-face setting is what I enjoy most. I look forward to the challenge and trust that students will afford me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience.
