About Vera
I was born in Russia, grew up in Russia and Kazakhstan, and I’ve been residing in California, United States, for the past 26 years. I teach English as a second language. I also speak fluent Russian and tiny bit of Spanish. Because English is my second language, I can offer insights that make learning it easier.
I have a TESOL certificate from Arizona State University. I have taught English classes in Russia on and off during my travels. Currently I have online students from different countries. And I have 20+ years of experience communicating with immigrants from all over the world.

I primarily focus on teaching beginner to intermediate students, from A1 to B1 levels, through one-on-one or group online classes that emphasize communication, encouragement, and real-life language use.
I’m comfortable teaching teenagers and adults, who want to improve their English for work, travel, education, or daily life. I also speak Russian, which can occasionally be helpful for communication and support when needed, although my primary focus is teaching in English immersion style.
My preferred teaching approaches are the Communicative and Affective-Humanistic methods because they help students develop both confidence and genuine communication skills.
During my lessons you can expect .. being yourself - My goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident. I organize my lessons according to YOUR unique learning abilities, and your personality. Expect watching short fun videos, play games, listening to children’s stories and my bad jokes. I use a lot of imagery because I am also a visual artist. I specialize in teaching Beginner to Intermediate Adults.
I understand how challenging it can be to learn a new language. That’s why I provide a supportive, friendly, warm environment where you can learn at your own pace. Let’s start your English journey together—book your first lesson and we’ll create a plan just for you. Thank you!
