About Katt
I am currently a secondary school English teacher as well as Literacy leader - responsible for the Literacy strategy for my current school. As a year 11 form teacher, I have also coached and aided in the writing of many personal statements for university, college and job applications for students with positive results.
I have tutored across a range of exam boards for English Literature and Language GCSE & A-Level, and have experience with the new 9-1 grading (AQA, Edexcel and WJEC).
I am also a former corporate and communications professional with four years of industry experience.

I currently work in a secondary school in Manchester city centre teaching KS3 and KS4 classes. Having worked in different industries, I believe I bring a different view of education as well as an engaging way of teaching. I have a proven track record in the school of achieving results and helping borderline pass students achieve that crucial Level 4/5 during exam time. I pride myself in having high expectations of students, raising self-confidence as well as stretching and challenging all abilities. Outside of school, I have tutored at different centres, gaining experience in 1-2-1 tuition.
Having previously worked in communications, I believe I have the ability to reach all different types of students and am fully committed to their success. Measuring progress is the key, which is why I incorporate mini tests each week to ensure information retrieval. In addition, I teach using interleaving rather than blocking so that your child has the best chance of information retention and can apply key skills regardless of what topics they are being taught in school.
