About Lucy
I graduated from Oxford University with a BA in English Language and Literature in 2011. Since then, I have completed an MA in journalism, and worked as an Assistant Editor at a book publisher. I finished an MA at UCL in September, focusing on English and American literature post-1860, and am beginning a PhD this year. I am extremely passionate about English, and am excited to share this enthusiasm with my students. I aim to set up my students not only with a keen and rigorous mastery of all aspects of English, but with a real curiosity and enjoyment of the subject, and a capacity for independent and creative thinking. I know the impact a supportive tutor can have both academically and in terms of self-confidence more generally. I consider it a privilege to be in a position to cultivate a passion for English in my students and to lay the foundations for a source of profound pleasure and enrichment throughout their lives.
