About Kahmun
Hello! My name is Kah Mun and I am thrilled to be part of your learning journey. Teaching is also another way to express love in its purest form and I believe that nobody should ever cease to learn. Being born and raised in a multicultural country like Malaysia, we not only get to learn our national language (Malay) and universal language (English) but we also learn our dialect (Cantonese and Mandarin). All 3 languages to which I am fluent in and I am extremely proud of that as I get to mingle with people from various background. This expands my social connection and get to learn more about their culture.
My mother tongue is Cantonese and I speak purely Cantonese at home; and was educated in a Chinese primary school for 6 years old. Among these 4 languages, English is my most favourite; I learn it by heart.
Back in 2019, I was so fortunate to be able to tutor at a local tuition centre. The class consists of between 5-9 students in a classroom aged 13-17. I curated my own teaching materials, weekly essay writings, composition and weekly spelling tests. I obtained these materials from British Council Textbooks which are available in my school's library. Students found it challenging and the issues discussed were critically explored. I was extremely proud of my students who managed to do well in their finals and they commended for my extensive critical approach in teaching to challenge them in this subject.
I believe that I am an excellent tutor for your learnings and studies as I'd be able to guide you and practice conversational languages if you prefer!
