About Marcus
I started my involvement in ESL as a volunteer at the International Programs office at my undergraduate school. After making many international friends, I decided I wanted to travel abroad, so I applied for and was accepted for a position teaching ESL in Daejeon, South Korea. After I got back, I went to graduate school and got my Master's in International Studies with a concentration in TESOL. I then taught ESL for 3 and a half years in the university setting. Although I left ESL in 2018, I still worked primarily with international students in other ways. I love working with international students, and I really enjoy exchanging language and culture.

I like to teach using a combination of curriculum studies with personal assessment of students' abilities. I like to learn individually where students are and what they need to be successful. As such, I like to take time to get to know my students personally, so I can know what their goals are and how to best tailor my lessons.
