I have completed qualifications for a career change to ESL tutoring to satisfy my passion to support students in developing confidence and proficiency in English.
I genuinely have the skills, energy and commitment to support students achieve their English language literacy goals.

I am deeply motivated by the meaningful contribution ESL tutoring makes to people’s lives. Supporting learners to gain confidence in English and connect with their communities is work I find both personally rewarding and socially important.
I apply contemporary adult learning principles, reflective of AMEP tutor training and regular classroom practice. I focus on teaching functional English for everyday life, work and community participation. Additionally, I can provide targeted language assistance aligned to these outcomes. A typical tutoring lesson is one to one and a half hours.
Together with my TESOL qualification and practical tutoring experience, I believe my career as a journalist/editor has developed my ability to explain complex information clearly and work patiently with people from diverse backgrounds - strengths that translate directly into effective ESL tutorial practice.
