About Katy
I am a very experienced teacher with 21 years of experience in mainstream schools as a science teacher. I currently teach up to A-level Biology in an academy school in Plymouth.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences from UWE and spent a year working in a marine Biology lab in Scotland. I gained my PGCE from Exeter University and have recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Biodiversity and Conservation from Exeter University.

I have over 21 years of teaching key stage 3, GCSE and A-level Biology in mainstream schools. I have a Post Graduate certificate in Biodiversity and Conservation including a distinction in Statistical Modelling.
I focus on using past exam questions to structure learning and to gain confidence and experience weaving essential knowledge and skills into answering the questions.
I will teach the maths components and handy ways to remember how to structure long answers.
After teaching from home on Teams I am set up at home to give interactive and interesting lessons for online tutoring. Including practical demonstrations and using various quizzes and technology to assess learning.
