My style involves finding what works for the student - whether their style is kinaesthetic, auditory or visual - I will find what works best for them and tailor the lesson to suit.
More so, finding what hobbies and interests your child has helps immensely in hooking their engagement into their learning journey.

Amanda was brilliant with my daughter. She is very knowledgeable and tailored the sessions to her needs. My daughter’s confidence grew throughout the sessions and the progress she made with the extra tutoring was amazing. Amanda helped her reach her full potential with GCSE English and English Literature.
Amanda is a dedicated teacher who shows compassion and took the time to understand my son, even when it was challenging to interpret his needs. She maintained her belief in him until he started to make progress and flourish. My son faces various learning challenges, including MLD, ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, and partial deafness. During the time Amanda taught him, he advanced from the bottom 2% of his age group to the 40%, marking a remarkable improvement. She customized his education not only to enhance his academic performance but also to nurture his emotional well-being.
Amanda made sure to keep me updated on any issues that arose and worked closely with me to support my son, which made me feel that he was both acknowledged and understood. Thanks to Amanda's teaching, my son developed personally and academically.Amanda has been fantastic for my daughter! She looked forward to every lesson and has become so much more confident. We’re so grateful for Amanda]’s patience, encouragement, and engaging teaching style. Highly recommended
Amanda is a fantastic tutor and her passion for English is evident in her tuition. Highly recommended tutor!
The best thing we did for our daughter’s education was to have Amanda to tutor her. Amanda has helped build her confidence, resilience and has taught her to believe in herself. She has listened to our daughter and taught her in a way she understands. The impact of the one to one tuition has shown improvement across all the other subjects.
We cannot thank Amanda enough for the difference these lessons have made.Amanda is amazing with her approach and has helped my Son with his English. He looks forward to his lessons and is showing great improvement. Highly recommended
Amanda is an experienced KS2 and KS3 English teacher whose subject knowledge is of a high standard. She adapts her teaching to suit a wide range of abilities and has demonstrated positive relationships with pupils.
I've had the pleasure of working with Amanda over the past few years. We have held small study groups together where I had the opportunity to observe her working with students. Amanda is a patient teacher who can accommodate and tailor her teaching to her students' needs. Additionally, her experience as a GCSE marker makes her highly qualified for those seeking help with their exams.
Her upbeat personality and good sense of humour makes her popular amongst her students. By booking a lesson with her, you will be assuring high quality teaching for your child.Amanda was great with Gritt and really made things clear, not just so he could pass an exam but so it makes sense to him
I had the pleasure of working alongside Amanda as an English teacher in a local school. Her subject knowledge and passion for literature always shone through and ensured that pupils in her lessons were always fully engaged and motivated. She is kind, patient and encouraging. Absolutely the kind of teacher, a child remembers for the right reasons!!
I had the opportunity to work with Amanda on several occasions. A very skilled and knowledgeable teacher with expertise in English, Special educational needs and English as Additional Language . Amanda has years of experience which is reflected in her approach. She achieved outstanding results for GCSE at her former school so she is definitely the right person for your child !
My daughter required a bit of a helping hand and a confidence boost to get her through her SATS. She flourished with some one on one sessions and revision assistance that she just couldn't get at school. The change in her confidence was incredible. It was worth every penny, and we'll definitely be returning for revision and exam assistance in the next couple of years once secondary school kicks in.
Mrs Amanda Riddell was an excellent tutor for our son during the lead up to his GCSE English exam earlier this year. She's very warm and welcoming and our son was completely at ease with her. She boosted his confidence ten fold and we were very happy with his final performance in the exam, with his grade going up from what was predicted. We will definitely contact Amanda again when it's our younger son's turn to take his GCSE's.
Mrs Riddell is a fantastic tutor, she helped tutor my daughter get the grade she needed for her GCSE exam.
Amanda was tutoring my son who was studying English for his GCSE’s. He needed extra tutoring to give him a helping hand as he was struggling a little. After a few sessions he was confident, more prepared and felt ready to tackle his GCSE’s. Amanda has a way of making the child feel they are not failing which is a rare thing to have as some of the tutors I have been to in the past made my son feel exactly that.
Amanda is an amazing Tutor, knows her subject well and really helped my daughter develop her literacy skills and boosted her confidence.
Amanda tutored my step daughter for her As level in English. She came to the house and was prompt to the time agreed. She discussed with Amy her concerns and areas she needs to work on. She had a great deal of knowledge on the subject and made Amy feel at ease working with Amanda. She came on a regular basis and Amy’s confidence in the subject grew. Amanda was professional at all times and I would highly recommend her to others.
