About Silvia
Hi everyone! My name is Silvia, I am originally from Italy and currently a university student in London. I'm studying Education and I have been an Italian and English tutor for about 4 years now. Before I moved, I used to volunteer at an after-school centre where I had the opportunity to teach Italian and English to foreign children and teens. I always try to make the learning process as pleasurable and as easy as possible. As a foreign languages student myself, I know that textbooks often lie (for instance, they always get sayings and phrases wrong!) and make everything more complicated than what it actually is. Being a native, I can teach you how to communicate in Italian correctly and efficiently, according to whichever method works best for you!

I like to create tailored lessons for every student and adapt to their individual exigencies or demands. I often find the use of mind-maps to be really helpful for the majority of my students, so I dedicate extra time at home to prepare these and to plan the lesson beforehand. I make sure that the lesson never gets too hard or too boring, while still achieving the desired results. I always make sure that all aspects of the language are covered, by practicing with speaking and grammar exercises, sayings and phrases typical of the language and its culture, movies and much more.
I also have experience working with students who suffered from learning disorders, such as dyslexia or dysgraphia.
