About Joseph
Hello, I'm a Royal Academy of Music trained cellist offering private lessons in West London for all ages and abilities, I offer one free trial lesson and I have a second full-size cello that can be used (during lesson times) by any students looking to gain some experience before committing to the purchase of their own instrument. Although I do not teach the Suzuki method in its pure form, I studied with Penny Heath, one of the leading UK Suzuki cello teachers, from a young age until I began study at the Royal Academy of Music in 2008 and I incorporate many of the things I learnt from her into my own teaching. I teach beginners with a great focus on playing by ear, learning to listen and respond before the reading of scores is introduced (after all a person learns to speak before they learn to read).
