Hi! My teaching methods and techniques are as follows: as an educator, I like to use a 1:1 approach focusing on the student's needs based on their learning levels, preferences, and interests. Based on the student's needs, I tailor my instructional focus. I use Universal design when planning and implementing lesson plans for students, incorporating modes of engagement through modes of visual, digital platforms, video-based learning, as well as kinesthetic and auditory learning. I emphasize relational-based teaching by establishing rapport with students and incorporating relational-based strategies in said lesson activities.

A typical lesson plan consists of the following: Introduction: Brief welcoming and catch-up, followed by a general overview of the lesson agenda and objective to focus on during that lesson. Beginning with the activation of prior knowledge (focusing on what the student has already learned/ and/or making real-world connections with the topic at hand). After activation of prior knowledge, we will then engage in the topic at hand through instruction, discussion, and modeling of the topic. The final part of the lesson will be twofold: first an opportunity for guided practice, followed by an opportunity for independent practice on the lesson objective followed by real-time feedback for the student. Finally, there will be a closeout and preview introduction for the upcoming lesson.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my devotion, flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to work with and support your child through their educational journey along the way, fostering their interests and supporting their needs in whatever way possible.

My lessons are structured and designed to work with all learners from grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade in all subject areas with special needs or general education.
