About Secondary
Hi! I’m Varsha, an Ontario Certified Teacher with experience teaching secondary students and a strong passion for helping students succeed in Science and Chemistry.
As a teacher, I understand that every student learns differently. I enjoy creating a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.
My teaching style is patient, clear, and student-focused. I believe that Chemistry becomes much easier when you understand the “why” behind a concept rather than simply memorizing formulas. I break challenging topics into simple steps and use examples and guided practice to help students develop real understanding and confidence.
Whether you are learning Chemistry for the first time, struggling with a particular topic, preparing for a test or exam, or simply want to improve your skills, I’m here to support you.
My goal is to make Chemistry feel less overwhelming and help you become a confident, independent learner.
I look forward to meeting you and being part of your learning journey!

I believe Chemistry becomes much easier when students understand the ideas behind the formulas instead of simply memorizing them. As an experienced secondary teacher and Ontario Certified Teacher, I use a clear, supportive, and student-centered approach to help learners understand challenging Chemistry concepts and become confident problem-solvers.
My teaching approach
I begin by understanding your current level, learning goals, and the areas you find challenging. I then adapt each lesson to your needs and learning pace. I break complex topics into smaller, manageable steps and use clear explanations, diagrams, real-life examples, guided practice, and targeted questions to make Chemistry easier to understand.
I also encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling pressured. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where you can actively participate and gradually become more independent.
What a typical lesson looks like
• A quick review of previous learning and your goals for the lesson
• Explanation of the new Chemistry concept using simple, clear examples
• Worked examples and step-by-step problem solving
• Guided practice where we solve questions together
• Independent practice to check your understanding
• Feedback, clarification of mistakes, and a short summary of key ideas
• Recommendations for what to practice before our next lesson
I adjust this structure depending on your needs. For example, if you are preparing for an exam, we can focus more on practice questions, problem-solving strategies, and reviewing difficult topics.
Who my lessons are for
My lessons are designed primarily for secondary and high school students studying Chemistry. I can support students who are:
• Learning Chemistry for the first time
• Having difficulty understanding specific concepts
• Looking to improve their grades and problem-solving skills
• Preparing for tests, exams, or assignments
• Looking for additional practice and academic support
• Wanting to build stronger confidence in Chemistry
Whether you are struggling with the basics or want to strengthen your understanding before an important exam, I will meet you at your current level and help you progress step by step.
What sets me apart
As a classroom teacher, I understand that knowing a subject and knowing how to teach it are two different things. I focus on identifying why a student is struggling and then changing my explanation or teaching strategy to make the concept click.
My goal is not simply to help you find the correct answer. I want you to understand the process, develop effective problem-solving skills, and eventually feel confident solving Chemistry problems on your own.
Let's make Chemistry clearer, more manageable, and much less intimidating!
I believe Chemistry is easier when you understand the why, not just memorize formulas. As an Ontario Certified Teacher with classroom experience, I help secondary students build clear understanding and confidence in Chemistry.
My approach
I first identify your level, goals, and weak areas. Then I simplify topics into small steps using clear explanations, diagrams, and real-life examples. You’ll always get guided practice and support at your pace.
Lesson structure
• Quick review
• Simple concept explanation
• Step-by-step examples
• Guided + independent practice
• Feedback + key summary
• Short practice for next lesson
(Adjusted based on your needs, especially for exams.)
Who I help
• Secondary / high school Chemistry students
• Beginners or struggling learners
• Students aiming to improve grades or prepare for exams
• Anyone needing extra practice and confidence
What makes my teaching different
I don’t just give answers—I find why you’re stuck and fix it. My focus is on helping you understand concepts and solve problems independently.
